Effective date: October 29, 2026
Terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Playdate for using the website and the apps. Playdate helps the grown-ups in one elementary school class plan playdates. If you do not agree, do not create an account.
Who may use Playdate
You must be an adult using Playdate for your own family or as a room parent. You may not create an account for a child, and children do not use Playdate. You are responsible for what you post and for keeping your class code and family link private.
The service
Playdate lets a class share first names, optional messaging links, and playdate plans. It is not a school, a childcare service, or an emergency service. Meeting up is something the adults arrange themselves, in a public place. Playdate does not supervise children and does not check that someone is who they say they are beyond the class code and the email or Google account they sign in with.
Your account
You can sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. One person, one account. If you sign in with Google using the same email you already verified with a code, it is the same account. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can sign out, and you can delete the account in Settings.
Class codes and families
A class code lets someone join that class. Share it only with families in the class. A family link lets another grown-up join your family and see the same children. Do not post either code publicly. Room parents can close a class. Reports about a class go to its admins.
Acceptable use
Do not use Playdate to harass anyone, to post another family’s contact details they did not share, to advertise, or to collect information about children. Do not attempt to break into another account or to scrape the service. We may remove a post, remove someone from a class, or delete an account that breaks these terms.
Your content
You keep what you post. You give Playdate permission to store it and show it to the families the app already allows to see it, for as long as these terms and the Privacy Policy describe. Playdates are deleted about a day after the event.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy is part of these terms. It explains the data we collect, including Google sign-in, and how to ask for deletion.
The service as it is
Playdate is provided as available. It can change or be interrupted. To the extent the law allows, Playdate is not liable for lost plans, for what happens when adults meet, or for damages from using the service. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.
